Abstract
Lightning strike is an unusual form of trauma yet represents one of the leading causes of death from environmental phenomenon. Survivors of lightning exposure can exhibit a variety of cardiac abnormalities, with dysrhythmias, ST-T wave changes reported. Respiratory injuries include pulmonary edema, pulmonary contusion, acute respiratory distress syndrome, and pulmonary hemorrhage. Case i. mostly cardiac injury was seen in 30 years old woman. Changes on ECG and increases in serum heart enzymes were observed. Serial ECG and cardiac anzyme analyses were performed in intensive care unit. After continuous cardiac monitorization, oxygene supply and intravenous liquid treatment, patient was discharged from the hospital with clinical recovery on the 5th day. Case II, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) was developed in 47 years old female patient. Mechanical ventilation supply was provided due to ARDS. Patient died because of multiple organ failure on the 13rd day.
